There is no extended research of public policy on regulation of the activities for organization and development of the statistics in Azerbaijan. Measures taken to improve and reconcile this field with the international standards are not considered to be satisfactory yet. Some of the statistical data vital for the country’s economic and social life can easily be challenged even upon the initial comparison. For example, when comparing Azerbaijan to other countries, according to the official statistics, Azerbaijan has better indicators for the level of poverty compared to Great Britain, better indicators for the Gini (inequality) coefficient compared to Switzerland and better indicators for the level of unemployment compared to United States. Thus, the official statistics distorts the reality in some fields.
ERC has completed the implementation of the project on the “Increasing of public awareness regarding with the implementation of the state program on education of Azerbaijani youth abroad in the years 2007-2015”
With the financial support of the U.S.Embassy in Azerbaijan, the Economic Researches Center (ERC) has completed the implementation of the project on the “Increasing of public awareness regarding with the implementation of the state program on education of Azerbaijani youth abroad in the years 2007-2015”. The main objective of the project was to increase transparency and accountability in the implemtation process of the “State Program on Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad in the Years 2007-2015” approved by the President of Azerbaijan Republic on April 16, 2007, and enable to create equal terms and conditions to all young people, who has necessary knowledge and skills.
The aim of this strategy is to get the right and substantial message to the interest and impact groups at the right time.
